We are very pleased to announce that Meadows Crossing’s management company, Silveri Management Company, has been named as one of the top eight property management companies in the greater Grand Rapids area by Expertise, an organization whose mission is to help identify top service professionals.
The selection criteria used was reputation, credibility, experience, availability, and professionalism. Tenants may not know exactly what a management company is responsible for or why a good one makes a huge difference, so we thought we'd give you the rundown.
What Does a Property Manager Do?
A property manager is there to handle all problems related to the property and its running. These responsibilities include:
- Rent - including setting, adjusting, and collecting rent from tenants
- Tenants - including finding and screening tenants, handling leases, emergencies, complaints, move in and move outs
- Maintenance - including regular maintenance like landscaping, snow removal, and trash removal as well as repairs to apartments and the overall complex when issues arise
- Landlord-Tenant Law
- Supervision of Employees
- Budget and Records
Many of these duties go unnoticed by tenants, particularly the paperwork which must be done correctly in order for the apartment complex to keep functioning well. If a manager fails to manage complaints between tenants, or respond quickly to problems, then tenants will notice. A poor manager will make everyone’s living experience less peaceful and enjoyable.
Why Is Meadows Crossing’s Property Management Better?
Meadows Crossing is locally owned and managed. It’s not one of many properties owned by out-of-state investors who do not know or care about the property or the tenants. It's not one of the many properties who have hired property management firms from outside of the local community who are not sincerely invested in the property or the residents.
For over 10 years, Glenn Turek, Managing Partner of Meadows Crossing, and President of Silveri Management Company, has made Meadows Crossing his life’s work. He inspires his staff to provide the residents at Meadows Crossing with excellent customer service, not just to make a profit, but to carry out the mission of providing an easy living experience so that college students will not be distracted from their work at Grand Valley.
At many GVSU apartment complexes the on-site property managers come and go every year. Meadows Crossing’s property manager has been here for over 10 years. She enjoys the energy of college students and likes making a difference in their lives.
Maintenance is one of the most important factors when living in an apartment. At Meadows maintenance issues that arise are addressed quickly so our tenants can focus on studying and having fun.
Meadows Crossings receives high ratings from its residents, and has more 5-star ratings than any other complex at GVSU in large part because of its excellent property management. If you would like to know why our residents are so pleased, make an appointment to talk to us today. We would love to show you what makes Meadows Crossing different - more than the average college apartment complex while also being the affordable choice. As we say, it's "Lux Living for Less."
